Tsawaayuus (Rainbow Gardens)
is a neighbourhood care campus
Located in Port Alberni, British Columbia, Tsawaayuus (Rainbow Gardens) is a multi-level care facility providing 44 complex care beds, 10 assisted living units, and 68 independent living apartments. Design and operation of Tsawaayuus reflect the West Coast Native culture. We advocate for priority placement of Aboriginal people in our facility.
The Auxiliary has many fund raising events each year, such as the spring plant, bake and rummage sale. The Christmas craft and bake sale is also very popular. A lot of volunteer time is put into these events, as they raise money for our Resident extras.
The money raised by these events goes directly back to the Residents, to enhance their quality of life while at Tsawaayuus. The Auxiliary has purchased items such as a large flat screen television, a fridge for our kitchenette as well as lovely Christmas Gifts each year.
The Gift Shop gives the Residents (and guests) an in-house shopping option, which is much appreciated by all. The Auxiliary stocks the Gift Shop with little extras like seasonal gifts, body products, cards, pop and much more.
