Notice to Family and Friends re: Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Tsawaayuus (Rainbow Gardens) is working in partnership with Island Health and the Ministry of Health to implement safety and preventative measures for coronavirus (COVID-19). Our priority is to protect our residents and staff based on current recommendations. As this is an evolving situation, we are making changes daily to provide the best possible care to your family member or friend living here at Tsawaayuus (Rainbow Gardens).

Currently, visitation is open.

Eligible visitors must pass screening criteria, show proof of vaccination (along with photo ID), as well as take a COVID-19 rapid test. You can either take a test here at the facility or take one at home and bring the negative result to show the Greeter.  Visitors must wear a medical grade mask (available at the door) and wear the mask in common areas. Visits are contained to the Resident’s room or outside. Once visitors are in the Resident’s room, or outside, they can take off their mask. Exceptions are those with approved medical exemptions, children under the age of 12 years, end-of-life care. Unvaccinated visitors with exemptions, must wear their medical-grade mask for the duration of their visit both indoors and outdoors.

Visitors who do not have proof of full vaccination may visit outdoors in a space that does not require entry to or passage through the facility and must wear a medical-grade mask for the duration of their visit.

Thank you for your cooperation, patience and understanding during this challenging time.

Volunteering

The Auxillary2019-05-23T22:44:09+00:00

The Auxiliary has many fund raising events each year, such as the spring plant, bake and rummage sale. The Christmas craft and bake sale is also very popular. A lot of volunteer time is put into these events, as they raise money for our Resident extras.

The money raised by these events goes directly back to the Residents, to enhance their quality of life while at Tsawaayuus. The Auxiliary has purchased items such as a large flat screen television, a fridge for our kitchenette as well as lovely Christmas Gifts each year.

If you would like to join our Auxiliary, please contact our Activity Coordinators at (250) 724-5655 or activities@rainbowgardens.ca

The Gift Shop2019-03-21T21:05:02+00:00

The Gift Shop gives the Residents (and guests) an in-house shopping option, which is much appreciated by all. The Auxiliary stocks the Gift Shop with little extras like seasonal gifts, body products, cards, pop and much more.
